In 1993, workers' compensation attorney, Bill Smith, and personal injury litigation attorney, Mark Chappell, opened the law firm of Chappell & Smith. Originally, the firm had only two attorneys and one office in Columbia, South Carolina. In 2001, workers' compensation attorney, Mark Arden, joined the firm which then became Chappell, Smith & Arden.
Today, Chappell, Smith & Arden has eight attorneys and six offices across South Carolina with attorneys licensed to practice in all federal and state courts in South Carolina, all state courts in North Carolina, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, the District Court for the District of Columbia, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
