Chappell, Smith & Arden Expands Service Area

born_portrait-crop-u41433Jacob Born of Chappell Smith & Arden, P.A. has passed the Georgia Bar exam and now adds another state to the firm’s growth within the region. Chappell Smith & Arden, P.A. is licensed to practice in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and the District of Columbia.

“With the addition of Georgia, Chappell Smith & Arden, P.A. is now a southeastern regional law firm and we are honored to have Jacob Born working with us,” said Mark Chappell, founder and senior partner of Chappell Smith & Arden, P.A.

Born graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2006 and the Charleston School of Law in 2011. He is a native of Blythewood, South Carolina, an Eagle Scout and a childhood cancer survivor. He began working with the firm as a runner while an undergraduate at USC in 2005. His concentration will be in the areas of personal injury, automobile accident, premises liability, product defect litigation, trucking litigation and nursing home litigation cases. He is a member of the American Bar Association, South Carolina Bar, South Carolina Association for Justice and the Richland County Bar Association. Chappell Smith & Arden, P.A. has offices in Columbia, Rock Hill, Aiken, Sumter, Florence and Charleston, South Carolina.

Personal injury attorney Mark Chappell of Chappell Smith & Arden, P.A. has been elected to the American Association for Justice (AAJ) Board of Governors. Chappell will serve a two-year term representing the South Carolina Association for Justice (SCAJ). Members of the AAJ Board represent their home state to the national association.

Mark Chappell is the founder and senior partner of Chappell Smith & Arden, P.A. He concentrates his practice in personal injury, truck and auto accident,catastrophic injury and product liability cases. Since he was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1985, Chappell has handled thousands of cases, winning millions of dollars for injured clients. He uses his knowledge and experience to pursue justice and obtain the compensation that injured people deserve to rebuild their lives.

Chappell is a 1981 graduate of the University of South Carolina and a 1984 graduate of USC’s School of Law. He is a member of the South Carolina Association for Justice (SCAJ), where he served as President and on the Board of Governors. Chappell is an active member of the Southern Trial Lawyers Association. He has also chaired the Judicial Qualifications Committee for the South Carolina Bar and has served in the Bar’s House of Delegates.

AAJ was founded in 1946 as the National Association of Claimants’ Compensation Attorneys. In 2006, members voted to rename the group the American Association for Justice. AAJ is the world’s largest trial bar and aims to promote a fair and effective justice system. They support the work of attorneys in their effort to ensure that everyone has the legal right to obtain justice in the courtroom. AAJ consists of members worldwide who are involved in diverse areas of trial advocacy.
