A fatal pedestrian accident took a victim’s life on Friday morning in North Charleston, South Carolina. The accident occurred around 8:17 am when a driver slid on Ladson Road after losing control of the driver’s SUV, and fatally struck the pedestrian. At the time, a state of emergency was in effect because of the inclement weather.
Although pedestrians are afforded protection under state traffic rules, many motorists fail to realize this or may not use caution when driving near a pedestrian. When a crash occurs involving a pedestrian, the victim may incur personal injuries or become fatally injured. Drivers who engage in reckless driving, speeding, distracted driving, or intoxicated driving may be in danger of causing an accident that could otherwise be avoided.
