His presentation, entitled “Advanced Plaintiff Strategies: Use Doctor Testimony to Your Advantage,” will cover deposition and cross-examination techniques.
Some of the content in Mr. Born’s presentation will include topics on causation, mechanism of injury, and utilizing foundations of science and medicine to educate the jury through medical expert witness testimony. He will also touch upon establishing bias, setting up impeachment, and challenging an expert’s testimony; hostile witness deposition tactics; and using hearsay objections and exceptions to their full advantage. Mr. Born draws on his many years of experience and success in his areas of practice, which include catastrophic injury litigation, trucking litigation, nursing home abuse and neglect, industrial worksite litigation, products liability, and premises liability.
