Multi-Vehicle Crash in Greer Causes Fatality and Several InjuriesA multi-vehicle crash on Sunday evening caused a fatality for one driver and an array of personal injuries for several other victims. Right after 6 pm, the accident occurred on Interstate 85 in Greer, South Carolina, and involved four vehicles and a tractor trailer. The driver of one vehicle who was from Pelzer, South Carolina sustained fatal injuries while a driver and two passengers occupying another vehicle received medical treatment at a local hospital, and the driver of the third vehicle was hospitalized, too. Both the driver of the fourth car and the tractor trailer operator came out of the multi-vehicle crash unscathed.

Multi-vehicle crashes, otherwise known as chain reaction crashes, generally originate from one collision between two vehicles on a congested road. Once the accident takes place, other motorists may become engaged in their own collisions due to stopped vehicles and onlookers becoming distracted by the wreckage. If other crashes ensue, the results could be catastrophic, and a variety of injuries as well as potential fatalities could accompany the additional crashes.
